Emergency Information

In case of an emergency please phone our office as soon as possible if you break or loosen any of your appliances. Please inform us first before you come to our office so that it will allow us to create a time to see you. If you have a regular appointment please bring the broken appliance with so that we can fix it immediately.

Please Call our office as soon as possible for advise if a bracket or wire has loosened.

The bracket need to be refitted as soon as possible.You may have a situation that requires cutting a wire over the weekend.

If you need to cut the wire in case of emergency, you may use fingernail clippers that have been washed and sterilized in alcohol.

Please call our office the next business day, to schedule an appointment.

WIRE IRRITATIONS​

If you experience a wire irritation cover it with a small amount of wax or a mixture of wax and cotton.​

If you cannot resolve the wire irritation, call our office for an appointment.

LOST SEPARATORS

Most patients loose a separator during their treatment. Do not worry about losing a separator, but call our office to see if it needs to be replaced.

DISCOMFORT WITH ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

During the first week after your braces are placed you may have discomfort, but we will give you Calmag mineral powder, to help relieve the pain. Drink the Calmag everyday for the first 3 days in water or juice.​

You can also chew the Spry chewing gum to help ease the tension. A warm wash cloth or heating pad may reduce soreness in your jaws.
